A MEMORY AFTER THE HOLOCAUST
A memory after the Holocaust is a play written and directed by Carolina Perelman and Samuel Rotter Bechar, inspired by real events that occurred in Paris after the end of World War II. There, two young Jews of Polish origin, Anna and Zygmunt, survivors of the Holocaust, meet at the beginning of the fifties in a Parisian cafeteria and timidly strike up a conversation that, little by little, makes them open their souls to each other, and realize that their true salvation lies in the hope of that unexpected love. But what at first glance appears to be a simple love story, becomes a reflection on the past and memory. Through multiple "phases," the audience is invited to witness how the memory of that day transforms inside Ana's mind over time. A transformation that will reveal in its path the tragic stories of their pasts and the way they managed to save each other.
"The text by Carolina Perelman Bellido and Samuel Rotter Bechar attracts and excites at the same time. Carolina Perelman's direction reveals her as a young artist who will not lack strength, resources and inspiration to be able to travel that long and uncertain journey that always awaits every artist."
